Just a handful of the People I’ve met along the way View fullsize Good friend and former college roommate Adam and his wonderful family. Adam's engineering background came in handy helping me modify my van for more utility. View fullsize I got to hang out with my dad's cousin Jeff in Washington. It was awesome to have a local tour guide and catch up! View fullsize Marilyn and Kathy are working on visiting all of our national parks, and they're pretty close to completion. We met waiting in line for they ferry from Juneau to Haines in Alaska when they were interested in my van. A couple of days later they passed me on a road in mainland Alaska and when they spotted a moose they pulled over, I followed, and we took this picture. We actually met up again in Denali a week or more later at a campground. Very cool ladies. View fullsize That's the Arctic Ocean behind us. All 4 of us are from the Miami Valley. The couple on the left I met in Fairbanks and our trips up the Dalton Highway happened to line up for the next couple of days. The dude in the middle was our tour guide and I couldn't believe it when he was checking in and mentioned I was from Arcanum. View fullsize I met these guys on the tour to the Arctic Ocean in Deadhorse, AK. Lars, on the left, is from Germany and drove a motorcycle from Oregon. He had some very cool stories. The other guy was from Norway. View fullsize I met this amazing family from the lower 48 at a campground in Homer, AK. They were camped next to me with their truck camper. Talked for hours. View fullsize I met Bill at a campground in Banff National Park in Canada. Bill knows my little brother. He and his wife had a very sweet teardrop camper. View fullsize I met Dixon at a campground in Prince Edward Island. His grandmother once delivered mail to the writer of the Anne of Green Gables books. He had some amazing stories to tell. View fullsize These twin brothers from Michigan were camped next to me in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. They rode their Harleys all the way up there and were planning on eventually going to the Twin Festival in Twinsburg, OH before heading home. View fullsize This guy came up to me in a Walmart parking lot in Canada interested in my van. Very cool dude. You can see his camper van in the background. View fullsize I had a fun time getting to know Mary on the 11 hour flight from Boston to Honolulu. She's moving out there for her master's degree. It definitely made the long flight more bearable having someone to talk to. By the end of the flight the flight attendants thought we were traveling together, which was kind of awkward with the massive age difference and all. View fullsize I met this awesome family on the plane to Barrow, AK. We were supposed to be on the same tour when we touched down, but we missed it due to fog. They helped me book a better trip with a local guide that wound up being way better than the one we originally were supposed to be on. View fullsize Keith, an old friend from York, PA. His auto repair shop did me right fixing an issue with my van. Good to catch up. View fullsize I had a great evening hanging out with my old friend Zach when I was in PA. View fullsize I met Judy at a state campground in Maine. Man, she has some crazy stories and has lived a full life. Honored to know her.
