I like to travel. I love Jesus.

I want to understand the amazing world we live in and the fascinating people that inhabit it. Travel is a way to do both, maybe the only true way. My parents made sure we went on regular summer vacations as a kid, so traveling and planning trips has always been a part of my DNA. As an adult I started small in my travels with places close by and places I knew. Year by year I just kept pushing myself to step out into the world just a little farther and more boldly. In 2019 that led to my 48.1 Trip in which I visited all of the lower 48 states, plus D.C. How do you top that? For a long time I didn’t think I could. I’ve always wanted to visit Alaska, but I knew I had to do it right, which meant spending weeks in the state. In the summer of 2021 I officially decided to do this trip and started planning for it. It took a lot of time, money, hard work, and planning to make it happen, but that just made the payoff so much sweeter.
